Oganesson (Og)

Oganesson is the heaviest known element, named after nuclear physicist Yuri Oganessian. It may behave very differently from other noble gases.

Facts about Oganesson

  • Oganesson is the heaviest element ever created!
  • Oganesson is named after Yuri Oganessian, a living scientist — a very rare honor!
  • Scientists think oganesson might actually be a solid, unlike other noble gases!
  • Only five or six atoms of oganesson have ever been detected!
